Critical Thinking (SSK61)

    Description

Critical thinking is a vital skill that offers numerous benefits and value, both personally and professionally. Developing strong critical thinking abilities enhances decision-making, problem-solving, and overall cognitive skills.

In this course participants will learn the foundations of critical thinking. The whole course is built around eight strategies for critical thinking, and for each strategy a distinct set of tools will be introduced and practised:

    1. Challenging all assumptions
    2. Looking for what others have missed
    3. The earnest consideration of possibilities and ideas without (always) accepting them
    4. Emphasising data over beliefs
    5. Suspending judgment
    6. Revising conclusions based on new evidence
    7. The never-ending testing ideas
    8. The perspective that mistakes are data
