Description
Oil & gas drilling operations are accounting for a high rate of critical incidents compared to other domains in the petroleum industry. Working in extreme operating conditions is one of the principal reasons for accidents to occur, but not the only one.
The intersecting, continuous and complex characters of drilling operations determine the variety of risks. Some of these associated risks are extremely difficult to control, as a kick inside the well not properly controlled can escalate to blowout which can lead to devastating consequences.
Risk Identification and Analysis are tools used for developing strategies which prevent accidents and for devising mitigation measures regarding rig equipment, safety engineering, HSE organisational management system and environmental management plan.
The purpose of this course is to visit all aspects regarding HSE in Drilling Operations: best practices, personnel and training, working procedures, engineering, equipment standards and organisation management, and to address a full picture of what is the drilling environment and process.
