Drilling Practices (DRI33)

    Description

    The objective of this course is the optimisation and management of the drilling process to improve delivery time and cost whilst maintaining wellbore quality.
    It addresses the root causes of the biggest elements of inefficiency in the drilling process and looks at the areas of poor planning and poor operational procedures that lead to higher costs and catastrophic events like stuck pipe.
    The approach here is a ‘systems based’ one, each discipline is shown to impact on every other aspect of the well planning and construction process.
    The time weighting of each subject area is based on the industry statistics to ensure that the maximum value is delivered.

    COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS: MS Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
    Participants are welcome to bring their own laptops to class.
