Advanced Well & Reservoir Facility Management (PRE45)

    Description

This course covers fundamentals and best practices of effective Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM). It provides an advanced understanding of integrated production systems, from reservoir to surface, identifying surveillance and data acquisition activities to be carried out towards optimum management of an asset throughout its lifetime.
The course begins with a review of the workflow linking reservoir, wellbore and facility, to then present solutions to combine data gathering and data management, modelling and interpretation to define field performance enhancement opportunities.
The course will also highlight key sustainability indicators of future-proof developments, including asset integrity, process safety, reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and integration of traditional hydrocarbon sources with renewable alternatives.

    Course Level: Advanced
    Duration: 5 days
    Instructor: Gioia Falcone

Designed for you, if you are...

    • A petroleum engineer, production engineer, process engineer, oilfield production manager, field engineer or technical support staff overseeing well, facility and reservoir management

    How we build your confidence

The course will gradually equip participants with the principles of integrated asset management. You will be taken through the individual components (the reservoir, the near-wellbore region, the well and the surface facilities), from source to point of sale. Along the flow path, the nature and the dynamic interactions and feedbacks between consecutive components will be discussed. You will also be introduced to tools and best practices for enhancing well, reservoir and facility performance in your asset.
The course includes exercises, class discussions of typical asset management problems, short films and demos of integrated production models. You will be encouraged to bring your own case studies for discussion in the class.

    The benefits from attending

By the end of the course you will feel confident in your understanding of:
    • The fundamentals of integrated asset management
    • How the WRFM value loop works
    • The need for a multi-disciplinary approach to WRFM
    • How to review and screen available data to set up an integrated WRFM workflow
    • Selecting methods to optimise asset performance
    • Plan and carry out periodic asset reviews to identify opportunities
