Tubular Design and Selection (DRI52)

    Description

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the tubing design for the life of the well. The course will first briefly review and refresh the knowledge of well construction and well completion, followed by an in-depth discussion of tubing role during the life of the well. This course builds a firm foundation in the principles and practices of well completion. A comprehensive overview of past and advanced well completion strategies will be shown and supported through schematics, case studies and animations.

    Course Level: Advanced
    Duration: 5 days
    Instructor: Catalin Teodoriu

Designed for you, if you are...

    • A drilling, production or operations engineer, field supervisor, toolpusher, with minimum filed experience.

    How we build your confidence

    • The course is constructed with case studies, videos, and exercises presented during class.
    • A strong focus will be on how to achieve well integrity with cost effective solution and how the best practice can contribute to select the best components such as packers, nipples, tubing and their connections, gravel pack, etc.
    • As an independent course, it offers the most complete overview of tubing connections and make-up tools selection.

    The benefits from attending

By the end of the course, you will feel confident in your understanding of:
    • Understand the differences between well construction and well completion
    • Plan a single tubing completion
    • Determine the minimum number of downhole tools
    • Understand the principles of various downhole tools
    • Design your tubing string for given well applications
    • Tubing loads and their constraints
