Well integrity failures can cause medium and long-term catastrophic damages to the environment as well as loss of production and can therefore result in soaring costs for operators.
Reducing the risk leading to such failures has always been considered a high priority for oil and gas operating companies, particularly in recent years, where several studies have revealed that more than 20% of the wells worldwide have integrity issues.
This course overviews monitoring of well integrity, using annulus pressure monitoring and logging tools to detect leaks inside and behind the casing, and inter-zone cross flows caused by uneven depletion, resulting from bad cement that also leads to corrosion, and other causes related to completion failures.
